KING-TV Exposes Nuclear Dump Leak Near Seattle

Gannettís NBC affiliate KING-TV Seattle received a Peabody Award for its investigative reporting that uncovered an underground tank leak at a nuclear dump located 200 miles from Seattle. KING-TV found the leak had run into one of the regionís main source of drinking water. KING-TVís program, "Hanfordís Dirty Secrets," also found that the siteís contractor, the company responsible for the nuclear siteís maintenance, had received a large payment despite failing to address the leak for over a year.
