Radio One Hosts Virtual Town Hall Meeting

Radio Oneís Washington, D.C., cluster aired a virtual town hall meeting on June 17 titled ďThe Beat Donít Stop: Donít Mute My CityĒ to discuss the importance and history of Go-Go music in the region. The town hall was hosted by syndicated Radio One personality DJ Quicksilva and featured guests, including D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, CNN Political Analyst and White House Correspondent April Ryan, local activist Ron Moten and Howard University professor and author Dr. Natalie Hopkins, among others. The panel discussed the musicís impact on Black culture and how it can be used to address issues including class struggles and gentrification.
